What started as a thought for many years, has now become a reality. Coming from the bottom of the barrel and knowing what it feels like to be hungry, cold and unhappy during the holidays, it has become my mission to give back to the very same society that i once fought against.
During the Christmas holidays (the day after Christmas) we start months in advance with accepting donations along with our own funds to buy $5.00 McDonalds gift cards that we give to the homeless in Houston Texas.
It is not much but it will definilty get them a hot meal on the day after Christmas when everyone has already fed them leading up to the day of the holiday. Homelessness is a everyday misfortune...to give a extra meal on an ordinary day means a lot to the people who receive the cards...the look on their faces, the joy in their hearts, and the tears of gratitude seals the deal for me.
